Re: Orminah's Warband o' Rusty Gits
That should turn out to be some nice rust effect! If you're worried about the sand not sticking, the first layer of paint should help hold it on as well. That's some good sand. The stuff I have is way too fine and homogeneous.

I think sand and toenail clippings would make a great rust effect

Re: Orminah's Warband o' Rusty Gits
Excuse my double-posting, but AAGGGGHHH!!!!! I didn't get my greenstuff in yesterday... So... There's always today! Stupid USPS...
Also..... Any ideas what to do with where my Razorback's turret used to be? I'm thinking hatch made out of a mouth. =)
Anyone have better ideas? (Also, any more ideas for me as far as converting the Rhino?)

Re: Orminah's Warband o' Rusty Gits
Ahh for the turret replace it with a bit of card and plop a havoc launcher in it. I have done that and i think its COOL! like an old missing tank thats between a rhino and a razor/whirlwind

Re: Orminah's Warband o' Rusty Gits
The problem with the giant mouth idea is that it is difficult to pull off successfully. Most of the time it comes off looking really cartoony- not that there is anything wrong with that, since that's how GW/40k started (and debate-ably still is). If that's your thing, go for it, but a piece of plasti-card is a fine replacement for the top hatch, especially with tons of rust-effect.

Re: Orminah's Warband o' Rusty Gits
Sounds good then, go for it. Like I said, some people go for whacky/cartoony and that's fine. It's not my favorite, but I'm more of a realist (as much as can be had for this game, anyway!) and prefer a natural/believable look. Not that I don't appreciate the old-school cartoony look. The 1st ed. Plaguebearers come to mind, and I have some. I don't use them though because it isn't the theme I'm going for. If it's themed well and integrates into your army then it works.
